Fox & Hounds is family owned by Tim & Vicki Tilton and their daughters, Denise Geske and Casey Pirtle. 

Everyone asks about the name. There's a story, as I'm sure you were imagining. Fox & Hounds was the first salon in the area to welcome men into a salon. It's hard to believe that that was quite controversial in 1971, but it was. At that time there was a Barber's Union. Only members of the Barber's Union were permitted to cut men's hair for profit. Fox & Hounds was picketed by the Barber's Union as a result of welcoming all people. Jacques and Tricia, the founders of Fox & Hounds, were blazing a trail! Back to the name: Fox & Hounds is British slang for women and men. Tricia came to the U.S. from England, opened a salon that welcomed women and men and Fox & Hounds Salon was born!

There were two additional owners before Tim & Vicki Tilton purchased the business in 1991. In the late 2000s their daughters joined their parents as business partners. Although Vicki will always be face of FnH, she is passing the torch, along with invaluable wisdom, to her daughters. Today, Denise and Casey are majority owners while Vicki and Tim remain very active in many community interests on behalf of FnH as well as being involved in business decisions. You will also find Vicki working with guests in the salon two days a week. Tim has restored our historic building over the last 25 years. When you see the beautiful space housing FnH, you can know the stamp of his work is everywhere.

Today, Fox & Hounds is the salon and spa home to just under 40 employees from GenZ to Baby Boomers. We have remained relevant for over half a decade by having a consistent value and focus on education and trends. FnH is a learning and teaching salon. In-salon education as well as conferences and trade shows are central to the Fox & Hounds culture. You will find our stylists consulting with each other, asking for their colleague's input and offering help. 

As a Redken Black Elite salon, FnH uses Redken hair color. Redken is founded on science. Their laser focus on science and education makes them the perfect brand partner for Fox & Hounds.

Fox & Hounds began adding spa services in the early 1990s. Our professional and talented massage therapists, estheticians and nail technicians are committed to staying on top of health, sanitation guidelines and best practices. Education is a central focus to all of our spa professionals.
